The RoissyBus Ends Today! Here’s How You’ll Now Move Between CDG and Paris

If you usually walk out of Charles de Gaulle and look for that big bus to the Opéra, you are in for a surprise. As of 1 March 2026, the RoissyBus is officially retired. It was a staple for over 30 years, but traffic on the A1 motorway became too much of a headache.

Have you ever sat on that bus for 90 minutes watching the meter run? The city decided it was time for a change.

Meet the New Express 9517

The city isn’t leaving you stranded. A new service called the Express 9517 is taking over. This isn’t just a name change, but a whole new way of getting into the city.

Instead of trying to fight through the traffic in the very center of Paris, this bus connects you to the new Saint-Denis Pleyel transit hub.

It’s a bit of a “hub-and-spoke” system now. You take the sleek, automated Metro Line 14 out to Saint-Denis Pleyel and hop on the 9517 from there.

It might sound like an extra step, but it actually cuts down your travel time by 10 to 30 minutes because you aren’t stuck in city-center gridlock.

If you are landing at CDG and need to get into the city, you will head to the Roissypôle bus station near Terminal 3 to find the 9517. If you land at Terminal 1 or 2, just take the free CDGVAL shuttle train to reach the bus station in a few minutes.

The bus will drop you at the Saint-Denis Pleyel hub. From there, Metro Line 14 is your fastest ticket to central spots like Châtelet or Gare de Lyon. It runs frequently, with buses every 15 minutes during busy times, so you won’t be waiting long with your luggage.

Better Perks and Comfort

The new coaches are a big upgrade from the old ones. You’ll find dedicated luggage racks so you don’t have to hug your suitcase for an hour. There are also USB ports at every seat and proper air conditioning. The coaches run on biomethane, so they are much better for the environment.

The 9517 runs from 5:10 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. every day. On weekdays, you can catch one every 15 minutes during rush hour and every 30 minutes the rest of the day. On weekends, it’s every 20 minutes during the day.

It’s pretty reliable, which is what you want when you have a flight to catch.

How Much Does It Cost?

The best news is that this new route is a lot cheaper than the old RoissyBus. If you pay on the bus with a credit card or your phone, it costs just 2.55€.

If you use a Navigo Easy pass, the price is only 2.05€. For those with a weekly or monthly Navigo pass (zones 1 to 5), the ride is totally included at no extra cost.

Just a heads up: if you have old physical RoissyBus tickets in your bag, they won’t work on the 9517. You’ll need to stop by a ticket window in a Metro station to get a refund for those.

Getting Around the City

While the Saint-Denis Pleyel hub is the main spot, the 9517 connects to a few other places too. You can catch it at Carrefour Pleyel (Metro Line 13), Stade de France – Saint-Denis (RER D), or La Plaine . Stade de France (RER B). It even goes all the way to Argenteuil if you are staying out that way.

Are you planning to try the new bus on your next trip, or will you stick to the RER B train? If you want the fastest ride starting in 2027, keep an eye out for the CDG Express. That will be a direct 20-minute train from Gare de l’Est. But for now, the 9517 is your new best friend for a budget-friendly ride.
